When you mentioned "not THE top 25" you may want to point out the College Insider Mid-Major Men's Top 25. It is definitely the most reputable one and it is good to see us back in there. The bad news here is that if we finish in the top 20 this year and top 10-12 next year then we are probably going to be looking for a new head coach. lol

Happy to see this after many years of being in the wilderness. Especially glad to see the team pulling together and playing well in spite of drama and the eventual departure of a talented but troubled teammate.

Very nice to see this kind of sign of progress. Not to get greedy, but maybe we shouldn't be so far behind GSU at this point?

Side note: It's kind of funny to see Gonzaga still included in these rankings. I know their conference and all, but after 20+ years of consistently being in the top 20 and numerous 1 and 2 seeds in the tourney, you'd think they might "graduate" from mid-major status.

Yeah, Capel went 16-15 his first year, although he inherited pretty much the entire team that had won 24 games and advanced to the semifinals of a postseason tourney the year before.

It has been a while so I don't remember our exact expectations but I was hoping he would bring in some talent because of his name that would keep us closer to 20 wins, which would have gotten us in a postseason tourney. I just about blocked out those Capel years. LOL
