I'm honestly really disappointed this team finished with a losing conference record.

Shot 39% from the field and 21% from three, can’t win games like that.

Finished the regular season 9-11 against D1 competition. The effort and hustle are there, just need to find some consistent offense.

Same, but we only played east teams, which appears was the better division. Anything can happen in the tournament, though.

Agree with T-Dog and disagree with App97. East was easier division this season, played Troy and Ga Southern 4x — avoided playing Coastal any. And only once at Ga State. Maybe east was harder BUT we didn’t play the full east schedule, so we technically had the easiest schedule in the east.
Kendall Lewis cost us potentially a top 2 seed.
Looks like we play UALR on Friday night.

Troy losses were the low, GA St and USA wins were the high.
Inconsistent shooting is the biggest issue. This team can beat anyone in the conference and shown it can lose to any as well. Wouldn’t be surprised with a first round exit or upsetting a team or two.

These times are Central, so add an hour for Eastern. If we win we play Texas State, who was picked 4th/5th in the West. They fired their coach after verbal abuse allegations came out and have played this season with an interim (who should be the permanent coach, but their AD is an out-of-touch idiot). They lost to Our Lady of the Lake in non-conference, but have been hot this year in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

From an eyeball test alone, Troy was better than several west teams, just really young. Scott Cross is a good coach. If you pay attention to ncaa stats, the east was certainly the better division with coastal, Ga state, USA and App listed in some top 50 categories. Tx State is always good on defense. We shall see how it shakes out in the tournament. The belt certainly has parity.DenverOfTheEast wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 10:34 amAgree with T-Dog and disagree with App97. I think GA St., USA, UTA (maybe CCU), and Texas St make the semis. GA St. beats USA as they have no depth and the third game they lose.
GA St. wins the tourney.
App goes 1-1. 2-1 would be awesome.
