Semifinal matchup vs Coastal Carolina. Hope the team isn’t too worn out after that thriller last night vs Texas State.

Interesting matchup because our series vs Coastal in February was cancelled.

This is big. How many times in the past 20 years have we even won a quarter final to make it to the semifinals? I can only remember one other time. Who knows the answer?

So Big South gets on espn family of networks and not sun belt.. That is too bad.

2013 vs Davidson in Socon semis after beating Furman in quarters, I believe, in Capel’s third season. We played well enough to win during the majority of the game. A year later an assistant on the DC bench become our coach.

We also made it to socon title game in 2010 in Buzz’s one year back on the mountain...lost to wofford, but made a nice run in CIT before losing to Pacific in semis.

Of course, it was their championship game. Ours will be on tomorrow night. The one that caught may attention is that the SoCon semifinal games are on ESPNU tonight.

I was at mid court for that DC game , we just couldn’t close it out . My strongest lasting impression that night is the visible dislike and frankly disrespect that certain players parents had for our then head coach. It got ugly.

Jones and Tipler are a very strong offensive back court, and our guys (Forrest Almonacy Delph) are gonna have to match them for us to hang around.

Mostafa is a 6’9 center that leads them in rebounds and has had 2 double-doubles in their last 3 games. He could be a matchup problem if play small...or us playing small could be problematic for him defensively

If we can play the quality of defense we’ve played the last two nights I like our chances to pull off the upset
