As much as I want to see a celebration Sunday opening the Holmes center for our champs .... I hope we reconsider. Just like that Dukes season is over. I’m going lockdown

I'm so tired of hearing "lockdown". We really should get a gentlemen's agreement to just let that rest. I don't support them, some do, who gives a rip. It's like a big old turd in the punchbowl, every time we talk about having a good time. It's probably innocent comments but dang I am tired of hearing them.

I don’t have to do the math for anyone here. This team worked their tail off on and off the court. Look where it got us! As much as I despise the NBA their bubble worked. Why risk it one Covid case within the team and the seasons over. Any smart person would keep the team close and let them play ball which is what they want to do.

A twist on a song to pay homage to the Southern Appalachian Highlands connection to many with Scotch-Irish heritage.

I don't own this like GAS owns the countdown. I was going to do one song a day and this and Bowie were on my list. No problems. The more fun we have with this the better for all of us. Let's enjoy the moment.

Being pissed about lock down is ridicules. This is a great point. It would be beyond terrible for these kids to be exempted from the tournament because of Covid. They’ve worked incredibly hard and the reward is dancing! Do everything possible to avoid Covid ruining the season! Ask Duke!mountaineerman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 2:37 pmAs much as I want to see a celebration Sunday opening the Holmes center for our champs .... I hope we reconsider. Re: Going Dancin'
Not just us. From Wikipedia-
The University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Band performs Tennessee Waltz at the end of each home game at Neyland Stadium and Thompson–Boling Arena in Knoxville as the fans are filing out of those venues. East Tennessee State University's Marching Bucs perform the song during their pregame show. After every home game, the Appalachian State University Marching Mountaineers perform the song during their post-game show. Baylor University's Golden Wave Band plays the song at the end of each home game, a tradition possibly begun with a request from former Head Coach Grant Teaff.[22] The Tennessee Waltz is also the corps song of Music City Drum and Bugle Corps, a Drum Corps International World Class corps from Nashville. The UTC Marching Mocs perform the Tennessee Waltz during their pregame show.
Also this, which is really interesting-
As of 1974, it was the biggest-selling song ever in Japan.

Re: Going Dancin'
Yes - but why does APP play it as if it there is some kind of connection? - Appalachian Spring is a tune that gives me cold-chills - WVU plays it but it would certainly fit perfectly for APP - back when I went to games I believe they played it in part of their standard pre-game show ---

Re: Going Dancin'
I know some refer to it as SIMPLE GIFTS - anyway, APPALACHIAN SPRING is much closer to my heart and soul --- This is a recent rendition played by the Pride of West Virginia Marching Band - It's the first 4-6 minutes --- but tell me - DOESN'T THIS GET YOU READY FOR FOOTBALL !!!

Re: Going Dancin'
Gotta give Keith Gill credit for having the Sun Belt Tournament a week earlier than normal. Looks like some ACC teams could be screwed after their recent outbreaks. The Atlantic 10 also went a week earlier than normal so any tourney teams could get through contact tracing if there was a positive case.
