Early season tournaments / scheduling

Has anyone heard if the team may partake in an early season tournament or any other scheduling news? Hopefully coming up an NCAA appearance it's more likely the team gets the opportunity to play in another round-robin setup.
Between the hurricane knocking off the Puerto Rico opportunity and the pandemic putting a stop in last seasons events it'd be great to catch the team playing somewhere new.

I'd like to see some more NC/Local teams too. ETSU, UNCC (if they'll play App again), WCU, UNCG, UNCA, Radford, UNCW, Davidson, Campbell.
Skip all the D2 or lower match ups this year.

We go to Furman as well. Our exempt tournament is the Gulf Coast Showcase from Nov. 22-24 in Estero, Florida, which apparently is a real city that actually exists near Fort Myers. No other teams known currently.
I imagine Charlotte comes to Boone this year as that deal was a long-term one.
Based on last year's schedule, I would think App hosts South Carolina State and maybe goes to Bowling Green.
The Auburn home game is in 2022-23.

It’s a nice venue for basketball. Great site lines.

Half the people on this board are excited about their favorite team hosting App at the Dean Dome.

Florida Gulf Coast University (who made the 2013 Sweet 16 as a #15 seed) is in Estero/Fort Myers. My guess is that they will host that tourney or it will be played on their campus.

Both, actually. FGC will host on their home court--(Alico Arena) in Ft. Myers.

Alico Arena is their home court. Hertz Arena is listed as the tournament site. Hertz Arena is not affiliated with the school but it isn’t too far from the campus.

So the conference schedule is up. At first glance feels like those first couple games at Holmes against the Louisiana schools will be pretty important with five out of the next six on the road. Plus side is a hefty chunk of home games later in the season so hopefully more butts in seats when students are back.

Shame we can't get in any away game SoCal schools..... /selfishly wanting a game near me.
Playing Duke and UNC will be a good test for the team. I don't expect to win either, but I hope it'll help us prepare to get to the tournament again.

Wow! Squad is looking buff. Can’t help but notice Sasha. Looks like he’s really dedicated and put on GOOD weight which could really benefit him and our post presence. He was listed at 6’11” and under 200 lbs. last year but not anymore. Credit to him and the strength and conditioning coaching. Excited to see that and how it translates for him and the whole team. Keep taking the stairs guys! You got me fired up for hoops just as football is getting cranked! Love it!

It is also on their site. It is a shame we have to go to other schools sites to see who we are playing. That is just pitiful. Need more attention to details.

when I took my boys to basketball camp at App in June, coach Fey told me he had never seen someone put on as much weight as quickly as Sasha has since last season. James Lewis will need some help from the bench. Hopefully Sasha can provide post depth and can still shoot from deep.
