2021-22 Preview

We return every key player from our tournament run last year which is exciting. No staffing turnover or additions as well. Our starting 5 will likely be the same with:
James Lewis Jr.
Donovan Gregory
Adrian Delph
Justin Forrest
Michael Almonacy

And off the bench our primary contributors will likely be:
RJ Duhart
Xavion Brown
CJ Huntley
Michael Eads Jr.

We have 2 new faces in Terence Harcum and Chris Mantis. Add sophomore Sasha Glushkov to the mix, and those 3 guys will be looking to crack the rotation. We like size and Sasha will likely need to step up, as well as Duhart, to contribute in the post. If you look at the rosters across the sun belt, many teams have multiple guys that could give us problems in the event of a Lewis injury or foul trouble situation.

We had an extra scholarship and did not bring in a transfer of any kind this off season which was a bit surprising. Like I mentioned above with our lack of size it would have been nice to acquire someone who could have contributed in the post.

I trust we will bring back the toughness and strong defensive play from the year before. I would love to see offensive improvements in the half court. Last year we played from behind a ton, and went many stretches (even in victories) of 5+ minutes without making a basket. The law of averages would predict that if we repeat doing this, we won't be 17-12 (or better) again.

I predict in non conference play we finish at least 8-5, if not better! Looking forward to tonights opener against Iona, and traveling to friday's home match up with ETSU. #PackHolmes
