No doubt over the last couple weeks or so this team has come to life, hope they keep the trend going.

No shite. That’s the negative complaint-point spread? That brutal non-conference schedule is paying off. We are 6-2 in conference with 2 huge home games next week. Get those wins and we are in great shape. Losses to Duke, UNC and 2 schools currently leading their respective conferences.proasu89 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:58 pmYeah, I hate winning 4 straight with 3 of them on the roadHurricaneYosef wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:35 pmWE can never just win by double digits easily can we

Several times we put up a three and we take off back on D before the shot even hits the rim. GS picked up the rebound. Are we so confident in the 3s we don’t rebound or is that some game strategy? 3s can have long rebounds and sometimes we just leave them.
Great win. I don’t care if it’s marbles and we beat GS it’s a good day !

Re: MBB @ Georgia Southern, Sat 1/22 3pm
So let's talk about the team with the *real* blue collar defense; and we won't be talking 'bout no stinkin' iggles.
Those "take the stairs" Apps forced at least 17 iggle turnovers and 12 of them were steals. Unheard of in recent seasons of App State MBB.
Serious question. Will Delph and Lewis get to take a Covid-19 Super Senior year? Almonacy and Forrest will have exhausted all of their eligibility when this season is over for the Apps.

If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

I thought it was a good timeout. Double rest for the stretch run.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:29 pmIs it a product of the overall style of play in these games or more of bad officiating in that there never seems to be many fouls called? I hate seeing constant fouls but way too much stuff goes uncalled.
Also not to be too picky but why would Kerns call a TO after a made basket at the 8:02 mark? Next dead ball is a free TO

Yep turned out to be a good call. Probably why I don’t coach.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 5:30 pmI thought it was a good timeout. Would be HUGE if both decide to use Covid year. Delph is good enough to play immediately overseas if the professional route is the way he wants to go. Wonder what our offense would look like next year with Forrest-Alomonacy-and maybe Delph all gone.asu66 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 5:25 pmSo let's talk about the team with the *real* blue collar defense; and we won't be talking 'bout no stinkin' iggles.

Forest needs 3 to hit 2,000 career points Thursday night would be a good time to do it in front of hopefully 4,000.

Good road trip. Two #Roadkills. Sure wish we would put our students on the sidelines not the end lines like stink does. They were yelling overtop of our bench the whole night. Keep it rolling men.

I do believe this team would be undefeated in the Sunbelt if the team had a more fluid offense. Not talking about up tempo as our philosophy is play tough defense and on offense use much of shot clock. If we could get better shots on offense, our shooting% would be much higher. We would be very difficult to beat. Past Virginia teams under Bennett is similar to our philosophy (this year's va. team is not so great). But the way their players screen off ball and off ball movement is impressive for the style of play the play. I am sure it would not be, however feel like we could shoot 50% from the field if got some easier shots. Given the amount of difficult shots we have made over last 4 games has been impressive.
This team never quits. No having to coach energy and effort especially given the short bench we use. Fun team to watch.

It’s the philosophy Dustin Kerns brought with him. You’d have to ask him if it’s based on personnel or analytics of getting rebounds then getting second chance points, but I think the concept is simple “shoot your shot then get back so you don’t get beat on the fast break”.1ASU78 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 5:19 pmSeveral times we put up a three and we take off back on D before the shot even hits the rim. I agree it is frustrating to watch but you’d also have to agree that it produces wins.
