A battle of 2 and 3 in the conference. App (16-11, 10-4) hosts Troy (17-8, 8-4).

Troy is scoring 71 giving up 65. App is scoring 66 giving up 62. Troy has won 4 of their last 5. Absolutely cannot get behind as we’re known to do. Battling back is going to be tough.

BPI has us at a 74% chance to win.

A win Thursday would be huge considering the opposition. Having fewer or equal losses to Troy will keep us ahead of them given that we have played more games and will give us a higher winning %. USA game falls into the same category on Saturday. It would certainly help matters if Coastal would help us on Thursday.

RealTimeRPI.com has it Apps by 6...with a 65% chance to reeling in another big "W." That said, Scott Cross coached teams always worry me. He's one of the two or three sharpest knives in the SBC drawer. Perhaps # uno except that USA has his number. He simply can't buy a win against them.

Good to see RJ back on the court and giving some production off the bench.

offensively, this is the first half team I have been wanting to see all year...taking it to the basket and taking 3 when they present themselves...
Troy shooting 54% from field in first half...need to improve on that in the 2nd.

Absolutely NO EXCUSE for a D-1 team to be this bad at free throws. It has cost us more than a couple games this year.

I hope I’m wrong, but it feels like we are fading at the wrong time. You have to wonder if our short bench is catching up to us.

GO APPS!!

Ref's made a lot of tough calls that I thought were not good, but then replay showed they were good calls. This game was lost at the FT line . . . we are allergic to making two in a row, I really don't understand how we have such good shooters but can't make one of the easiest shot in the game. Very unfortunate and frustrating. Can't be elite shooting 60% as a team.

February seems to be a rough month for us, could be the effects of a very short bench. The frustrating part, outside of turnovers and poor FT shooting, is that this league isn’t very good. It’s there for the taking and we just can’t get out of our own way.

All in all i think our starting line up is full of guys who are capable, can, and do hit shots from all over the court. We take a lot of bad/forced shots that give us that low %, free throws are neither and we should be better with this team make up.

I don't think we have good shooters. We consistently shoot in the 30% range overall and from behind the arc. (we shot 45% overall tonight and 33% from three. That's the first time in 5 games that we shot more than 38% from the field) We also go cold for a long period every game. Tonight, we were stuck on 41 points for about 5 minutes. Plenty of good looks, but the shots would not fall.

Still, it's such a fun team to watch. They play defense, they compete, and they have a chance in every game. They clawed back from 11 points down in the second half tonight, and cut the lead to one without a made three pointer. In fact, Delph's three with under a minute left, was their only made three of the second half. Yet, if they hit their free throws, they could have pulled it out.

Huntley and Duhart gave some great minutes tonight. If we get a solid point guard to replace Almonacy and a little more outside shooting, this could be a really good team in the next couple of years.

Kerns is really good at drawing up a play out of a timeout.

We are close but are going to need to get hot. Texas State is taking care of business by wide margins. I hope we can avoid both Georgia St and Texas St until the finals of the Sunbelt tournament.
