This should be a good test to see what we really have this year. I think we will play really well and if Christopher Mantis can have the year I think he is capable of it should open up a lot for the rest of our players. He could not buy one last year but he looks like he could be the best shooter we have ever had. Ever is a long time.

				Game day!!!

 Holmes

 6:30pm

 ESPN+

 App -5.5

 App 65.5% chance to win
NC Central 0-1 with a 12 point loss at #18 Virginia Monday night.
Need Mantis to get hot from 3 again. We had 7 players with at least 10 points last time out. And we need to keep up the 90.1% free throw shooting for the team.

fixed it. Tough loss indeed, losing a game you didn’t even play in.

Excited about our team though. Lot of athleticism and hearing Kerns speak, he's pumped about their ability to score. Hope the defense is tough. Could be a good season.

I'm excited by Christopher's potential, also. On the other hand, you're either an aged soothsayer from the far east or a totally-zonked talent scout. I've followed every App team since Coach Bob Light's '62 team. All of 'em. I've probably seen three-dozen App kids who started with a flash until they began drawing man-to-man and double-team attention. The best I can say about the Mantis kid is that he may be the best pure shooter we've had so far this month.

Actually, I hope there's cause for me to apologize to you three or so years down the road. Anyway, Go Apps! NCCU is for real.

One game against less than stellar opponent I think I'll wait to see if he can get spacing off better defense or when he required to run and come off screens, etc. There was zero defense in GM 1 by the opponent. Many college players can hit open 3s when no threat of defense. Not saying he can't be great, I need 10 to 15 games.

The lid is on our basket a little right now, but we will dial it in. Boykin can shoot the three! Love our free throw shooting %. That's new from last year.

The love affair with the 3 doesn't need to be how we approach every game

Donovan Gregory is our most important player. 3 straight winning plays by the senior when we needed it the most

Abson is going to be a superstar for us.
Limited playing time for Mantis. Wonder if that's due to his knee injury last game or because his defense is still subpar.
