 Holmes Convocatin Center

 6:30 pm - Tuesday, November 29th

 ESPN+

 Line Furman -7

 Furman 58.5% chance to win
Kenpom: App 214th / Furman 62nd
Going to be a real challenge but Furman is beatable. They had a lackluster performance vs Old Dominion a week and a half ago. I'd look for Kerns & Co to dissect that game and follow ODU's blueprint.
App student section has been really good so far but I'm interested to see if that section swells now that football is (probably) over.

App coming off a big win this past weekend @ ETSU. Furman and Charlotte ahead this week.
Try to get to one or both of these games.
Take the stairs!

These next two games are big for the team. The ETSU win felt important. I hope we have solid turnout tonight.

Slawson, Bothwell, and Hein are Furman’s big weapons. They’re disciplined and don’t make too many mistakes. They’re also a rhythm based team so if we can manage to get them off their rhythm we stand a chance. That’s what Old Dominion did to them.
My wife is a Furman alum so there’s some extra heat riding on this.

Big game for sure. I think it'll be closer then Kenpom projects. Teams have been shooting lights out from 3 against App. With Furman already making 3s at a fantastic rate I'm sure it's been a point of emphasis the last few days so hopefully we're able to make some adjustments to help out there. Flipside is Furman is dreadful protecting against the 3 giving up nearly 40%. App has been shooting the poorly but there have been some good looks that just haven't fallen, hopefully breaks App's way tonight.

This is the worst half of basketball I’ve seen… and we had some rough years.

Worst since the home game against Louisiana last year.

Why do we pass up so many good shots to kick it out the three-point line?

Too many threes. No movement off the ball. Pass around the perimeter so someone can jack a three. Awful offense.

I've made the same comments about other games. We have no fluidity on offense. It's just a series of passes and jack the 3, often when the shot clock is about to expire. It's really ok to make short 2 point shots in the paint.

I love Coach Kerns, but this team is light years ahead of us offensively. The ball movement, hitting shots up close and mid range. Rebounding close, we are 50% FT they are 100%, but the big one is assists and is the tell so far this season, they have 10 we have 2. Our O does not flow well, its a lot of kicks or one v one moves. We need better movement and cuts.
Thank god they are only 13% from 3 . . .

We can’t defend the back door cut. Kennesaw St killed us with that too.

Team defense the last five minutes may be the best we’ve seen this season. Interior guys are altering shots.

Furman’s shot selection the past three trips have been better than ours.

Yes, that terrible 3 early in the shot clock was a killer.
