And once again

We have an exceptional season, with a really good coach, (just like 2019 football) and an AD sniffing around at another job.

Just like coaches, ADs have the freedom to consider options when their two primary revenue sports are doing well. It's a free country.
Hopefully he stays...but not going to begrudge him for considering other opportunities no matter how they come to fruition.

ALL coaches and AD's have to sniff other jobs or they never get a raise..... its about comparative value

No one should get upset..... maybe his contract is up soon? or in the coming year?

We should just be thankful for ALL he does for APP State !

Eihh he’s been here about a decade? Thats a good time and he’s made his mark, but App might benefit from some fresh blood too.

Most coaches and ADs aren’t emotionally tied to the school like we are as fans. Some are and those are the ones that stay long term. Gillin has been here 10 years and has done a lot of good things for us. He’s also done some things that aren’t as good in my opinion. If he wants to move up it in his career then support him doing so. No one is irreplaceable. The next _____ (fill in the blank) could be better.

I don't know how much weight it holds, but I've been told Gillin has not actively pursued any job opening since he's been in Boone.

He's certainly talked and explored opportunities, but he has never thrown his name in the hat unless the hiring University was the one that initiated the contact.

That said -- getting new faces in Boone is not always a bad thing. My only concern if Gillin is hired away is it's no secret Everts is close to retirement so does she pull a favor for a friend as her closing "gift?" Ala Cobb and Billy Jones.

I agree with 704, I’d like Gillin to outlast Everts.

BOT would have to approve the hire. The scrutiny would be tremendous. In any event, I like Doug because he has done a good job and forthright answering my questions, but if he moves on so be it.

Some original posts are like Star Magazine. Many articles are sensationalized and/or just total fabrications to generate revenue at the point of sale kiosk...😂😂

If he’s heading on, then I wish him the best. He did his best here, so I’m not going to be upset about it.

If his contract is up at the end of the year, time to negotiate. Always good to have some leverage, or rumors floated to make leverage.

Gillin flirted with Cincinnati once upon a time (several years ago) and got a raise as a result.
