NIT bid coming
NCAA has us at 25-5. Being regular season champions I would hope that would be good enough. I do wish we would stop the non-D1 games but I know why we do it.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Why in fu k would any APP fans say the other team deserved to win - Jesus H. Tapdancing Christ - Pathetic excuse for a fan
And stop calling out individual players saying their play cost the game -
Piss poor
Ark St played better than us tonight and exploited matchups. That’s what rational fans do, give credit when it’s deserved.
They attacked our one big weak spot and out scored us by 8 during that time. The rest of the game we outscored them by 6, but it was just too much of a hole.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

I disagree with those that are saying this is a bad wasted season. I haven’t been this engaged on a day to day basis for basketball in 15 years. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Culture change takes awhile, significant steps were taken this year.
I am 100% on board with you. The NCAA tourney would have been icing on the cake, but fan interest was up, students are going to games (students are going to games!), and this team won a bunch of games where previous teams would have folded.
Losing absolutely sucks, but we had two shots to go ahead late and didn't convert after clawing our way back into it. We were a second half team all season and made up an 11-point deficit. We just didn't get the late heroics.

Anyone that says it's a wasted season is just showing how dumb they are. Not a single #1 has survived so far this year. We're the first SBC #1 to win a game in four years.

Didn't we lose Huntley either last year or the previous year in the tournament? Did the Arky coach play possum a week ago and basically give us that game?
Pretty sure I saw something about Ark State not having 2 of their players last week.
Did we play possum? No. Plan for the first meeting always was if we stayed in the game until late, then make a run at the win, but if we fell behind, rest up for Pensacola.

You guys went crazy early in the first meeting and hit a ton of shots. Its very difficult to come back from behind a Kerns coached defnese. So it became sensible at that point to let the bench play it out and rest up and hide what we could for Pensacola.

Still, it took a crazy performance today just to win. Its hard to articulate how good you guys are, I can see why JMU lost to you guys twice. We had no answer for you guys most of the 2nd half and relied on our players making plays to win. I think we're in the tournament final a year before I expected us to make a run, so I have no idea what to expect tomorrow. We'll certainly be underdogs.

You guys deserve an NIT bid, hope you get it.

Free throws and rebounds......basically even in every other regard. 69% FT. Such a broken record point to end such an amazing season.

This one hurts. Pretty deflated. Gregory is a senior. Coach has shown us the way to build the stairs, now we've got to find what it takes to climb the final steps. Next season our starters will be senior heavy. One more ride before we have to build a new staircase.

Do not understand "wasted season".
Season not over. If we get NIT, when is the last time we were in NIT? It has been a minute or two
Although the season is not over, when building a program, seasons like this make it a heck of a lot easier for coaching staff to get HS talent and transfer portal talent.

07 was our last NIT. Memory’s a little vague but I think we lost to Miss. St in the first round.
It was a lot of minutes or two😂😂😂

We were also out rebounded by 8. Normally, we have a six rebound advantage on the glass. Their offensive rebounds hurt us during the comeback.

Honestly when you look at Kerns offense that is the problem. Our offense is unique and horrible.

I think it was the 3rd round to a Jeremy Lin led Harvard team.

Ok, yea the Jermey Lin game was a couple years later. Pushing 15 years since college, it all starts to run together sometimes. Haha

Well the eye test should be sufficient. It’s just odd. We don’t pass and don’t have a low post.

Maybe that’s it. It was the Donte Minter App team that made a little post season run. I do remember Jeremy Lin going off and not realizing who he was until he was hot in the NBA for that 1 year.

Not the NIT, one of the other lesser postseason tournaments.

I would say those two things have greatly improved since Kerns took over. Do you remember what our "plays" looked like under capel and fox?
