If we can somehow get to approximately 75 points per game playing SBC competition, I think we will have a decent year given Coach stressing D. Do miss that automatic shot blocker in the lane....will need to figure that out a bit ...or live and die by the 3 similar to several years ago..

Our game looks to be inside . A lot of potential there. I would like to see us run more though.

Noticed they beat GaSo by 15 in a high scoring game. Will be a good measure I guess, but we need to be better in this one.

We have a tough stretch coming up with the Live Oak tournament or whatever term they are using for round robin of games.

Bill and Mary has not been very good over the past several years in CAA. However, maybe that is changing. I keep up with the CAA a little bit as UNCW was undergrad alma mater.

Can’t score. Can’t win. Going to have to shoot better from field and line.

App free throws have been horrible for years, even before Kerns. Kind of astonishing.

Very similar to football in that we struggle to get a QB from the high school ranks to work out.

My high school coach called them freebies. If your % was less than 50% in a game, you had the honor of shooting 50 the next day before or after practice. Kind of sucked if only one FT attempt and a 1&1 and you missed the first one.

Drink cost us McCall and then Clark has been 0fer. TP and NIL make it difficult. Wonder how many QB starters at G5 programs were recruited as freshman 2023 and beyond.

Kerns (at least at App) has always made defense the cornerstone of his team. Statistically (even if W&L not showing it) the team is actually close to where his teams normally land. His teams have consistently gotten better on defense as the season has progressed, so I expect that'll be the case this season too. I don't think we have enough sample size yet to know what the offense will look like, but if the team is player Top 100 defense in the SB they'll grab a Top 4 seed with this years teams.

Having two preseason all conference selections is rare for us , in my memory anyway. They will need some help of course but it can come from a lot of different guys any given night.

It looks like our bigs are going to give up a lot of fouls this season.

Actually in year two of Kerns’ tenure (ncaa tournament season) we were one of the better teams nationally in free throw percentage at around 75%.

Competitive game thus far. We will have to match them three-for-three.
