MBB Home Opener

Post by ThkyApp » Wed Nov 05, 2025 9:59 am

Game day vs Carolina University. Hopefully this is a good chance for guys to get minutes and get in-game reps against what on paper should be a much inferior opponent. A few of our transfers were not from a D1 school, so there will be an adjustment when playing against D1 opponents for the first time. I am still feeling confident about the season and look forward to seeing how we have adjusted after Monday's game.

We're wearing gold uniforms tonight for the first time in the Kerns era.

The excitement level is through the roof for this one.
What is the over / under for attendance?

Yet half of our shots at the midway point of first half have been 3s. At least some have gone in.

Great game to practice 3 point and FT shooting.
Missing a ton of them to start.

DJ seems to enjoy calling them Carolina and I’m here for it.

Don’t think they’ve been around too long or at least not the bball team? I hadn’t heard of them until we played them 2 years ago and have been in Winston area since ‘02.

If I hadn’t see the results of the first game I’d think we are really good.

We’re shooting 27% from 3 and 50% from the line. Not what you want against a high school level team.
It’s very early but history might suggest we just can’t shoot.

I like Brim- really good stroke.
Really wish we had Vasser available.

Oh that’s bad. I wasn’t able to watch earlier due to work and school work/meeting (that eventually got cancelled).

Hard to take much from this game other than we won’t be winless. The talent level is not comparable and they are without 3 of their best players. Free throw shooting will continue to be an issue. I’m not seeing a fluid team offensively yet but that has been the case at times before. Maybe we can go .500

I wouldn’t mind seeing Clayton get some minutes down low with Njock, Moodie, Marcus and Wilson.

Seeing them in person. Hope they improve. Got a ways to go. More offensively challenged than even last year.

Feel like we have about 6 of the same 6’0 guards.
Zero wings or length outside.
