Donte Minter...er, huh...Devonte Graham revisited...

Unread post by asu66 » Thu May 16, 2013 12:41 pm

Justin Byerly‏ @Justinbyerly

2013 PG Devonte Graham of Broughton HS (NC) will take a visit to Brewster Academy his coach says (at 11:40 AM this morning).

Sound familiar, folks?

Wait... he's visiting a high school in New Hampshire? I'm confused. I really hopes he sticks to his commitment. Our basketball program has all the potential in the world, we just need a few more playmakers on the mountain.

I think it means that he's going to use a fifth year in high school to get out of his LOI with us. That or he's bluffing.

Wow that stings.

Just grant the kid the release and let him go where he wants to go.. just make sure as part of granting the release, he can't go to any other SoCon or Sun Belt schools so he can't play against us..

Its obvious he does not want to be here, so even if he does come, it's not going to be a good situation for the program, team, or him.

Can we tweet him like UK and Chapel Hill campus fans did that kid that decided to go to Kansas?

I kid. I really kid.

Let him go. Rather lose a talented recruit than waste a scholarship on a kid who doesn't want to be here.

That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

I finally got around to removing him from our 2013 BB page. He didn't want to be here so we don't want him here. Hopefully we can find someone to use the free ride. Good Luck and Good Bye.

Normally you let the kid go....so I can assume that there is more to the story and he and his "advisors"/parents made us mad enough to not allow him out of his commitment. This had to be discussed at lenght in the AD's office so I am sure CC et al decided to follow this course. If he wanted to come back assuming he did well at Brewster I'd take him. No use us burning bridges. Would love to know the background.

Again, in reference to Donte Minter's case...a sleazy PIRATE was involved in shady business to steer him away from ASU and to Virginia by way of Fork Union. Another sleazy pirate will eventually surface in the D-tae Graham case steering him away from ASU to Somewhere State U by way of Brewster Academy. I just hope we never have to face him on the court in a sanctioned NCAA contest. Emotions could surface resulting in him "accidentally" getting hurt on a crowded drive to the bucket.

It's serious biz when an interloper/pirate messes with the signed LOI of a player. It's clearly unethical and a lot of folks have a looooong memory.

With what is happening with Omar, today is not the day to say something like that, in jest or at all.

I know. It makes you sick to your stomach. It's just the game and the way it's played these days. I certainly believe and hope that there's zero correlation between the two situations.

@BrewsterHoops: #UConn #Friars #Pitt #URI have all expressed interest in Brewster PG @im_dat_kid_dtae. Can't speak with him. #AppSt hasn't released him.

Can that scholarship be passed on?
