				UCal-Irvine 85, ASU 77
The kids kept it within reach. Maryah Sydnor finished with a game high 28 points and 10 boards. KeKe Cooper had 17 points (on 8 for 9 shooting) and 7 boards. UCI shot 62.5 percent in the first half to build a 57-39 halftime lead, then held on after the Apps cut the lead to five, 75-70, with 2:30 to go. They just needed some help.
Darcy needs three impact players from this year's recruiting class; then she'll have a team that'll make some noise.
Tonite, the Lady Apps (1-6) will square off against U of Idaho (5-4). The Vandals lost to Montana on a last second 3 point prayer made by the Grizz in last night's tourney action. UC-Irvine appears to me to the best team in the tourney; but Idaho owns a home win against the Anteaters--so I'll hold off on a prediction. The game tips at 7 PM EST.

Tonite, the Lady Apps (1-6) will square off against U of Idaho (5-4); in a game that will give the Apps a look at a new rival from the SunBelt Conference--albeit on a neutral court in Missoula, Montana. Idaho lost to Montana on a last second 3 point prayer made by the Grizz in last night's tourney action. UC-Irvine appears to me to the best team in the tourney; but Idaho owns a home win against the Anteaters--so I'll hold off on a prediction. I'll simply say that the two teams will meet at 7 PM EST. How the Apps match up against a Sunbelt squad should be interesting to watch.
We won't see Idaho in the Basketball Belt. They and NMSU are football only.

Yeah, that thought hit me about 7AM. Thought I'd get to it early enough to make the edit. Nope, didn't make it in time.
It's a good thing they are "in for football only." Pretty sure we'd be stayin' in the SoCon if we had to send our non-revenue teams to Moscow and Las Cruces. Simply not sustainable.
