100-68 over Milligan.
A win's a win. From the stat sheet, the bench shoot a lot better than the starters?

Now we know we could be successful in the NAIA. Wow! I'm suffering throw-back to my undergrad days more years ago than I'm ever gonna admit.Apptiger wrote:100-68 over Milligan.

How bad is it for someone to start quoting stats and touting players performances in a win over a NAIA team.hapapp wrote:Gilbert scored at an incredible rate today (22 points in 25 minutes) and Obacha had almost a rebound a minute (17 in 21 minutes). Hamilton pumped in close to twenty for his third high scoring game in a row. It was a weird day statistically, including Baskin's three minutes of play. Must say even though it was against Milligan I was impressed with the final margin. Of course, we are still winless against D1 competition.
That Obacha rebounding reminds me of the stats Tony Searcy used to put up.asu66 wrote:Now we know we could be successful in the NAIA. Wow! I'm suffering throw-back to my undergrad days more years ago than I'm ever gonna admit.Apptiger wrote:100-68 over Milligan.

Thank R.Gilbert (73% shooting), C.Burgess (71% shooting), A.Scott (57% shooting), T.Toney (50%) and M.Obacha for that win. Obacha shot only 37%, but I'll give him props for 17 boards. He's off the hook. T.Baskin, our best eligible player started, but played only 3 minutes. What's up with that? Injury?
On the other hand, M.Neal shot 27%; T.Hamilton only 38%; M.Kobani 33%; and D.Clarke 25%. I'll give Hamilton props for shooting 42% from behind the arc.
Overall--we beat an NAIA team. Wow, again.
I guess that's what it has come to.Kgfish wrote:How bad is it for someone to start quoting stats and touting players performances in a win over a NAIA team.hapapp wrote:Gilbert scored at an incredible rate today (22 points in 25 minutes) and Obacha had almost a rebound a minute (17 in 21 minutes). The NAIA played a good brand of basketball in the 60's. I am sure some of us are old enough to remember those WSSU and High Point College teams of the day, hapapp wrote:Gilbert scored at an incredible rate today (22 points in 25 minutes) and Obacha had almost a rebound a minute (17 in 21 minutes). I believe it counts for App but not for them. This allows DII and NAIA teams to play some DI competition without hurting their record.Apptiger wrote:Still I'll take it as a positive lead in to the break. Just wonder why it was listed as an exhibition on Milligan's schedule. Doesn't it count?
