72-70 in OT behind Maryah Sydnor's 24 points and 11 rebounds.

The ladies were down 63-53 with two minutes left. A full-court press forced turnovers and with some luck, the game was tied with 50 seconds left. App got the ball back but couldn't get the shot off before the buzzer. Then in OT App dominated early and held on for the huge road win. They almost did the same thing Saturday in Statesboro with a late comeback but the last shot didn't go in.

This game was one of Darcie's best coaching jobs since coming to App State. She's taken a team that was extremely young, took them on the road and gained some lumps and now is one win away from a winning conference record.

I'm sure Darcie wants to blister Western something fierce on Saturday.

Interesting how some coaches can facilitate improvement during the year...

Michelle Taylor is the only senior on the team. Katie Mallow is emerging, and the frosh and sophs are coming on, learning their roles, etc. The remainder of the year should be fun to watch, and next year should be a good one for us. The OT win last night, on the road, should be a confidence booster.

I would not want to play the Lady Apps in Asheville.

The Lady Apps swept second-place Davidson in the regular season and went to OT with regular season champ Chattanooga. This team has the ability,however, sometimes their inexperience gets in the way, but I do believe they will be a much better team next season with virtually the entire squad returning and some good recruits entering the program.

After 2 years with disappointing losses in the SoCon Tourney finals, maybe this year the Lady Apps can disappoint a few other SoCon teams in the Tourney. This team is tough in Marcie's image.
