Tommy Bowman just Tweeted that the BOT is meeting Wednesday to approve a contract for a new coach. Considering the BOT just met this past Friday/Saturday, it just got done.

Any thoughts on who it might be?

Got a potential name. If it's true, then it'll be a good hire. It's an outsider and a permanent hire.

And I know some people hate the clues and such, but at this point it's not 100% and I don't want to get it wrong.

Same here and it would appear, on paper, to be a good hire. But I haven't been able to confirm anything with confidence yet and they may not want it out until the BOT approves the deal. One thing I can say is, if this person is indeed the one, that word is that we didn't find them but they came to us and applied. Hopefully more will come to light today.

Fair enough. If you guys say it's a good hire, then that's good enough for me.

What is the downfall of you telling us who is being rumored and then that person not getting the job? Sports message boards were created for rumors.

I have heard that it is someone with a solid background. An SEC assistant at that. I guess we will all find out soon! Geaux Apps!

I think we may have heard the same name. Someone with some extended family ties to ASU basketball maybe? (Not sure on that part, but it seems to add up.)

Presser at 4:30 at the Athletics Center.

The team has been on a mountain today doing their season poster photo shoot and found out the same time we did.

“I’m extremely grateful and humbled to join the Appalachian State family,” Elderkin said. “I learned a lesson in life that you win with people and it is the people at Appalachian State that makes this the right opportunity for me at this time. I am truly excited for the opportunity to inject my spirit in the terrific women in our program and inspire them to succeed on and off the court.”....

Now that is the way to get things started. We all might learn something from that comment.
