Hey Mountaineers,
I was working on updating the ASU roster for the upcoming 2012-2013 season and I noticed that G.J. Vilarino was no longer on the school's official roster. I couldn't find anything about him leaving the program, so I thought I would check in with you to see if he's still in Boone just left the team for personal reasons, or if he transferred again to another school.

Thanks in advance!

Don't have any information, but there is no Vilarino listed in the ASU student directory. Will be interesting to see if any information comes out.

I was actually going to write a post about this but I didn't have enough solid info. I'm hearing he left for personal reasons.

Thanks guys! I've updated his status to left team for personal reasons; I'm hoping that everything will work out well for him.

It may be that he looked around at his new team competition in pick-up games and concluded his PT was going to be going to someone else. By leaving now, he still has two years of eligibility to play somewhere.
This would help to explain why we have three commitments for next season when we have only two graduating senior scholarship players.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Re: G.J. Vilarino
Talk about a bust. The word during his transfer year was that he would be the best player we've ever had and then...nothing.
Transfers are very tricky to gauge. Hopefully Canty will prove himself.
