Two D1 wins. Good start, great free throw shooting tonight.

good win. Fox is the real deal. One thing I noticed tonight this team knew how to play a lead. a lot of teams get a lead up to 10-12 points and start sitting on the ball and just burning shot clock which led to bad shots and an easy opportunity for the opposition to get back in the game. we did not do that tonight. we never took the foot off the gas, it's such a shame basketball crowds are so weak. had a good time at the HCC tonight

Reported attendance was 1539, which is pretty good for us. I think that is better than every game last yea. Did that seem right or is that an over-estimation?

That seemed right. Would love to get it back over 3k on a regular basis.

Listened on the radio and DJ commented several times that it was the best crowd in a long time. He was especially complimentary of the student turnout.

I liked Fox before the season started and I like him even more now. This was a fun game to listen to. We never backed off when we got a lead and he kept imploring the team to go win the game during the timeouts. Good days are ahead for App basketball.

Not sure about >1000. I will say there should be 3k plus for our boys. They fight hard and Fox seems to be giving them motivation and a reason. It was my first game there since 2002. I really enjoyed it, the guys are athletic and talented, and Fox seems like a gem. We need more people in the seats, because I love to yell and everyone around me probably thought I was insane. I was very impressed with our rebounding, and 1/4-1/3 of the fouls seemed a bit uncalled for. Nevertheless, good game and I enjoyed being a butt in a seat (or standing in front of a seat.)

Yeah, what a difference. I actually feel bad for some if the older guys. They're lost right now.

What do we have to do to start seeing around 7 or 8 thousand a game? Will that ever happen?

Make the NCAA tourney 4 years in a row...and I think we could hit that mark.

That would drive up attendance to 43,000 a night minimum.

Probably about right in terms of regular crowds. If we could somehow get the occasional ACC or other name opponent to visit, that might get us a one-time boost in the meantime and hopefully make some new fans.

Decent crowd tonight...expected more students but maybe that will come. I saw what I thought I would see...good fundamentals, good help side defense, good foul shooting. I only saw us take a couple of bad shots tonight. Eaves can score outside or taking it to the goal. Spagnola never quits hustling. Burgess much improved. Obacha will make a difference when he gets back. Good progress so far...saw the Chancellor and several young ladies from the girls team, along with Coach Elderkin.

What's the word on Obacha returning?

Forgot to mention...Griffin Kinney has tremendous upside...reminds me of many of the Davidson forwards we have seen through the years.

I thought the student crowd was actually really impressive. The only issue is, half of them weren't sitting in the student section. Pretty much sat wherever there were empty seats.

Thought that was a really impressive showing for Coach Fox and company. The team rebounds very well and for the majority of the night limited Hampton to 1 shot. There will be growing pains but we are very lucky to have Coach Fox.

The fact that we're already seeing progress is encouraging to me. I'm sure we'll have plenty more rough nights ahead, but I thought it might be late in the season before we started seeing tangible improvement.
