Check the undergrad enrollments. Maybe you look at it differently, but when we're talking enrollment on here, I don't think masters/doctorate candidates/night school/online counts.

per northcarolina.edu fall 2013 undergrad enrollment stats...

UNC-CH: 18,370
UNC-C: 21,503
Appalachian: 16,025

for reference, (#2)East Carolina is at 21,508 and (#1)NCSU is at 24,536.

Not enough bodies. Charlotte wins 75-65. Bright future ahead, and I'm glad we have our coach versus theirs.

Lot of grit and fight in our guys. Charlotte could have been beat tonight but their inside strength wore us down in the 2nd half. I think we are headed in the right direction though.

Lost it in the paint. That's a moral victory if I've ever seen one.

The future is bright.

Fox looks to be a good hire.

You guys are a lot better than last year.

I am sure we will. Just like last year on December 8th when we beat you guys by 18. I think we like taking a scenic drive up to your neighborhood. That's fine country up there!

We would've lost this game by 25 last year. I hate losing, but I'm pleased with the progress.

Considering what we were left with last year, a 10 point loss is really not that bad.

We lost by 18 at home last year. So, factor in the game was played in Charlotte this year, 25 points is about right.

You give flip rosters and Fox wins by 30+. He's going to be a good one. He loses both 2014 recruits and a couple seniors from last year and improves one of the worst teams from 2013 to this in less than ten games.

I hope UNCC is on the schedule the next couple years so Fox can even the score.

I'd like to see us add more local midmajors like Wintrop, ECU, and UNCW as well.

This team is light years ahead of last year's. I love seeing the actual coaching on the sidelines. That is something that had been missing with Capel. We all need to support Coach Fox, his assistants, and this team. The future looks bright for ASU basketball!!

the UNCC fans are impressed with Fox, complimented him on their board, and one poster wanted to know what is the buyout on his contract. If Fox can recruit, things are really looking up.

I was thinking the same thing while watching the game. You could definitely see the discrepancy in overall talent but Coach Fox had a great game plan. He needs a couple more solid outside shooters and another big body in the paint to hit the glass.

On another note, I thought the refereeing was inconsistent for both teams. During certain stretches in the game they let them bang in the paint and then on some possessions they'd call touch fouls (against both). Obacha had a couple of ticky tack fouls early on that took him out of the game. It's tough for players to adapt to the calls without consistency. Either call the entire game tight or let them play.

Hard not to be impressed IMO. He has taken the (mostly) same bad roster you had last year and made them look like a decent team.

I think you guys might end up finishing around .500 in the SBC and possibly even a little better.

I have no doubts your coach would win by more with our roster because he would probably start the scoring threats.

We always start slow because we have one guy in our starting lineup that can shoot. One.

Meanwhile we have two freshmen stars coming off the bench that provide a spark, but we often put ourselves in a hole before they come in. Keyshawn Woods is second in the country in 3 point shooting at 63%. He's taken 30 shots, so its not like he's only had a few three point shots and that is inflating his %. Torin Dorn is awesome too. He's the best freshman I've seen since I started following Charlotte. Our coach is too loyal to the old guys.

ya, that's a big problem if your coach is leaving his best talent on the bench, its tough, I know he wants to be loyal to the upper class men, but putting your best talent on the court should be his top priority. Congrats on the win, and good luck with the rest of your season.

It sounds like this game was almost a replay of the GaTech game. I too am very encouraged with Coach Fox. It might be a tough year for wins but the fundamentals are there. 2 or 3 good recruits will make a huge difference going forward.

This game was a great test to show how much we have improved so far under Fox. Last year UNCC beat us by 18 points, but the game was actually much worse than that. This year they won by 10, but the game was much closer than the score.

Fox is doing an unbelievable job coaching this team right now. His energy is a welcomed changed from Capel who either sat down or stood motionless for the majority of the game. I noticed Major was sitting on his bench most of the game as well. Give Fox a couple more good players and he will put a winning product on the floor. There is no doubt that he is getting the most out of the talent he has to work with. Let's not forget he is doing this with a limited amount of practice times thanks do Capel getting us in APR trouble.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?
