They seen to have forgotten they Are not Duke because they keep forcing that 3. They are shooting 23% from behind the 3 point line. Need to work it inside more

Good game team. Close but not quite enough. Coach Fox coached a great game. This team, is much more fun to watch than the last several years.

Re: App State @ Alabama
This team is FAR better coached than any at App in a long time. The body language, attention to detail, and poise are there. Jim Fox is going to win some games and be really good in the sun belt. It just already looks apparent. These guys are improving every game and Spagnolo just dominated a bigger SEC frontline.

I wish we had tried to get to the rim with Spag before that last time out.
Alabama played the clock game well in the final seconds.
Helluva game though. Night and day from what this group was doing under Capel

Wish Eaves would've shot faked there before the last shot.
Overall yet another really solid effort. We are rebounding well and playing solid offense when we slow it down. I am very proud of this group. This team is one or two solid shooters away from being a Sun Belt force in the future.

This team is getting better by the day. It's too bad we are limited on practice time this year due to APR. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see us finish .500 or a little better in conference play.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

Re: App State @ Alabama
after getting to watch the las 4 games, I'm really, really happy at the progress I'm seeing. This team is visibly getting better every time they play. I think we'll be pretty competitive in conference play which would have been absurd to think at the start of the season. Our young guys are looking good and with new blood coming in next year, the future is looking up, for sure.

Will the Sunbelt BB shake out like FB? Most teams really horrible with a few pretty good and a couple decent in the upper half?

Re: App State @ Alabama
I agree. It's really interesting to see the same outcome for our basketball team as our first 6 games in football but the fan base has two totally different opinions on how they feel about coach an the program. I admit I am on that same train - just a neat phenomena I guess.AppinATL wrote:after getting to watch the las 4 games, I'm really, really happy at the progress I'm seeing. Re: App State @ Alabama
Really proud of this team. Coach Fox has put his emphasis on academics and basketball basics. The kids seem to be buying in; and it shows on the court. The loss of yet another Capel recruit to academic deficiencies should be on the minds of every guy on the roster. Party too much and you're a goner.
Very impressed with Fox so far. He clearly knows what he's doing and he has a plan. He'll need a plan. Next year, he has to get someone to step up to fill Spagnolo's shoes. The following season, he'll have at least six slots to fill--almost half of the roster will graduate...Burgess, Clark, Eaves, Gilbert, Lawson and Obacha. OUCH! Might be wise to work in a couple of JuCos or power conference transfers. Six grads is too much turnover for one season. Unless Fox is getting four-star recruits by then, replacing six players in one season is rebuilding, not reloading.
In the meantime, let's all enjoy the play of a team that has solid coaching and some player leadership. That's different for us in recent years.

I hope this is a joke. It was a Christmas tie dude. Snide comments like this make you wonder why any coach would want to come to ASU.TheMoody1 wrote:I hope coach gets some black and gold ties for Christmas.
