Hey AppHoops, I'm assuming you were at the game? I was interested in the type of shots Shabazz was taking, I love the fact we have a true frosh who is confident enough to put up 13 shots in his first outing. Was he getting good shots that just weren't falling, or was he forcing shots up? Looks like we have a good frosh PG in Emarius and besides Eaves bad shooting performance he filled up the other stat columns.

I physically was not at the game unfortunately, but I did watch the entirety of the game online. Shabazz took a wide variety of shots both from outside and around the basket. He made an early 3 and missed his other attempts. Missed a few bunnies in close on put backs, etc, but the team as whole shot a less than ideal percentage.

Some of the shots he put up may not have been the best, but I never once got mad or frustrated at him for his shot selection. There were some shots he had that just didn't go in, but were quality shots.

Regardless of the fact that he was 3-14, it was easy to see just how athletic and talented he is. He has range and I expect he will get more consistent from 3, but he has the ability to break guys off the dribble and get in the lane. He's long for 6-5 too and if we ever get into a situation where we get on the break he's going to be a menace for opponents.

It was early in the game and Shad rolled around a big screen and got the ball driving to the basket with no one near him. He promptly raised up and threw it down. I was excited about him before that due to following his recruitment, but that had me sold. Excited to see what he does tomorrow.

Looks like Elderkin is picking up three superb athletes. That's good. She still needs some height to fill the void that will be left with 6-2 C/F KeKe Cooper's graduation. That's not going to happen unless there are under class players leaving the program.
