WBB: 2016 Recruiting
The Lady Apps picked up a verbal commit today from SG/SF (wing) Armani Hampton (6' 0") of Atkins Tech High School in Winston Salem, NC. I am including her MaxPreps profile, ESPN.com profile (3 star listed) and a link to YouTube with several short clips. I'm still sick but I'm looking for some more information and will update as I get it.

Re: WBB: 2016 Recruiting
From twitter reports SG/SF Brooklyn Allen (5' 9") of Pisgah High School in Canton, NC has committed to App. The multi sport (basketball, volleyball, softball, and T & F) player has already surpassed the 1,000 point mark in bball and has over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in volleyball with her senior seasons still in progress or just getting ready to start. She also won the 3-A Western Regional Long Jump title (17' 2.25") last year. Her MaxPreps and ProspectsNation.com profiles are listed below along with a video clip.

From twitter reports SG/SF (wing) Armani Hampton (6' 0") of Atkins Tech High School in Winston Salem, NC has signed her NLI to App today. I'm keeping a watch to see if any others sign in this early period, which goes until Wednesday.firemoose wrote:The Lady Apps picked up a verbal commit today from SG/SF (wing) Armani Hampton (6' 0") of Atkins Tech High School in Winston Salem, NC. Re: WBB: 2016 Recruiting
This verbal commit was stuck in the 2017 thread but she's 2016 and signed her NLI yesterday.
PF Bayley Plummer (6' 5") of East Davidson High School in Thomasville, NC signed her NLI to Appalachian. Below are her MaxPreps profile and a couple of articles. Any further info I come across I'll add.

Re: WBB: 2016 Recruiting
A few quotes out of a couple of the articles just for you 66'
Last season, for the third straight year, she was a dominating presence once again. She averaged 15.7 points, 13.9 rebounds, 8.2 blocked shots and 2.2 assists per game. A three-time All-County selection, Plummer was Player of the Year as a freshman and sophomore.
“I’ve been coaching for 27 years, and she’s the best post player I’ve ever coached,” said coach Don Corry, who begins his fifth season at East. “They got a steal. A lot of schools wanted her. Wake Forest and N.C. State wanted her, and High Point University and Elon really wanted her.
From April of 2015-NCHSSA article:
THOMASVILLE—East Davidson High School women’s basketball standout Bayley Plummer continues to add to her incredible totals in both blocked shots and rebounds.
Plummer, who has just completed her junior season, had 230 blocked shots for the 2014-15 campaign and now has 635 for her career. The 230 blocks in a season is a new state record, and her total of 635 is already second all-time with a full season remaining to be played.
She was already in the record books with a state mark of 20 blocks in a single game, an achievement she has done on two occasions.
Her career total for rebounds currently sits at 1,234, which already places Plummer in the top 15 all-time.
Our thanks to head coach Don Corry of East Davidson for providing complete documentation and congratulations to Bayley Plummer.
And from a year ago-Dec 15th 2014:
Bayley Plummer scored her 1,000th career point en route to a triple-double Friday as the Golden Eagles defeated Ledford 47-27.
Plummer scored 21 points, pulled down 18 rebounds and blocked 18 shots to lead the Golden Eagles past their former Central Carolina Conference foes.

I thought you would like this. I hadn't found any video yet so I put the quotes up to add a little to the signing. Sounds like a great pickup.asu66 wrote:Yessssss! Now, we're cooking with gas!

Re: WBB: 2016 Recruiting
I hope she is as good for the program as our last East Davidson player, Anna Freeman. They have much different games and a good pick up for us.

From twitter SG/SF Brooklyn Allen (5' 9") of Pisgah High School in Canton, NC has signed her NLI to App. That's all four commits that have signed in the early period. Great to get them all in the family now and not have to wait until April.firemoose wrote:From twitter reports SG/SF Brooklyn Allen (5' 9") of Pisgah High School in Canton, NC has committed to App. The multi sport (basketball, volleyball, softball, and T & F) player has already surpassed the 1,000 point mark in bball and has over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in volleyball with her senior seasons still in progress or just getting ready to start. Re: WBB: 2016 Recruiting
I have watched Plummer play a lot in the last couple of years. My daughter is a cheerleader for a conference rival. I also got to see Anna play a lot while she was at East. They are nothing alike on the court, but both very talented. Anna was, as she was at App to a degree, more of a "point forward" and played in the high post and perimeter a lot. Plummer is definitely more of a traditional post player, though in East's system she sees plenty of time in the high post. She isn't a 3 pt threat like Anna, but a very physical inside player with touch. While not overly athletic, she moves well and will be a strong player for us, IMHO.eggers76 wrote:I hope she is as good for the program as our last East Davidson player, Anna Freeman. Re: WBB: 2016 Recruiting
Thanks for posting this. I saw it as soon as it came out but I'm dealing with some computer issues and I was neck deep in them at the time. I've updated Plummer's post above to 6' 5". Considering the rest of the info I posted about her BBall and other sports that is great news. Young Lady is an ATHLETE.T-Dog wrote:The four signees have finally been announced.
