WBB: RPI #280 Ga So @ RPI #239 ASU 4 PM HCC

The ASU women and their bitter rivals, the Ga So Eagles, enter this afternoon's makeup of the game postponed from a snowy Saturday night with identical (5-11, 2-5 SBC) records. That's good for a two-way tie for tenth place in the league- just a game ahead of cellar-dweller UL-M. Something has to give. Someone will come out of tonight's game with at least some hope of turning the season around.
Since I get to call it, I'll predict that our Apps will end a three-game losing streak and make a serious run at qualification for the Sun Belt Tourney. Soph Madi Story and Junior Bria Carter have come alive since the semester break; and true freshman Kaila Craven is beginning to show why she was so highly recruited. In addition, the ever-steady KeKe Cooper is shooting 60% from her low post position--one of the highest shooting percentages in all of D-I collegiate women's basketball.
The Apps have won six of the last eight games between the two schools; including a two game sweep last season. Southern is just 2-5 on the road this season.
Tho only downfall for this Appalachian team is their overall poor shooting. As a team, they average 37% FG accuracy and 22% three-point arc accuracy--two horrific stats.
By the numbers, RealTime RPI.com has the iggles as 10 point u'dogs.
