Unfortunate that we couldn't keep it up after such a great effort. I feel like the key moment was the rebound that went off on us / following foul.

It's just so challenging when you fall that far behind.

At very least we showed we can hang with the best in the sunbelt tonight even when not everything is going our way.

After scoring 37 against GS, he has 35 points in his last three, and it's his fewest points scored in any three game stretch this season. Failed to hit a three pointer for only the fourth time this season. 0-11 3FG in last two games.

We are 1-2 over that 3 game stretch with the victory being a 3 point win over last place Troy. I worry what next year will be like without him. I realize our young guys will improve but that will be a lot of offense to make up.

Hap things are seldom as bad as you make them out to be.

ULL is a much better team than App at this stage. With Eaves playing like that we should have lost by much more if he's all we have. My expectation even with an average game from Eaves would have been a 12-15 point loss.

Fox is building a program from nothing and brought is a couple of quality freshman this year and a couple of transfers that will be eligible this year. Through 20 games our record will be better next year than it is this year.

Depending on how quickly the youth develops, this team should show improvement. It seems fair to expect vast improvement by the 2017-18 season. However, I don't think unreasonable to wonder what the team looks like in the absence of Eaves, Burgess, Lawson,and Obacha. They account for 42% of the minutes played and 52% of the scoring.

To wonder what this team will look like post Frank Eaves and company is not a criticism of Coach Fox. In fact, a lot of the credit for his play is due to the coaching change. Frank was languishing under the previous coach.

I'm really not concerned with our guard play in the future based on what Logan and Shabazz have done as freshman. I'm more concerned with getting quality minutes from our post.

yep, the development of Eaves is one of the most amazing things that has happened under Fox. He was pretty much nonexistent under Capel...just shows that a coach/coaching style can make a huge difference.

the more I see them play, the more I think Kinney and Johnson will develop into pretty good (and hopefully consistent) post players. Maybe Hinton and/or Wilson will offer something after sitting out this year. We lost a 2016 recruit, Najee Garvin (who played at the same high school as Logan) to Charlotte recently, but hopefully the coaches have another quality power forward/post player in the works.

I think it is pretty clear that the three freshman who put in quality minutes are going to be good players in Fox's system. Shabazz is clearly going to be a star, Logan is more than capable at the point, and Johnson has loads of potential. The fourth, Bennett, can shoot and with his size if he can get stronger, can help inside. It appears the two guys coming in next year will be offensive threats. The key will be post play as Saint says. That is a need that has to be met for this team to really excel. We don't know what the transfers will bring there. The future is no doubt bright, but we will miss Frank's instant offense and we have to find some inside strength outside of Johnson.

To further this point, with a nonexistent Eaves significant foul trouble and being down 21, we cut the lead to 4 points with 5 minutes to go and had all the 'Mo. Then we scored just 2 points the rest of the way.

The team played a helluva defensive game in the second half. I am still scratching my head as to how we had no one foul out.

We just need to put together a complete 40 minutes.
