RPI #36 UA-Little Rock @ RPI #282 App State 7:30 PM HCC
Well, the regular season champs and RPI #36 Trojans of Arkansas-Little Rock (27-3, 17-2 Sun Belt) are in town for a little roundball action with our shell-shocked RPI #282 Apps (7-22, 5-13 Sun Belt) tonite at HCC.
There isn't a lot to say at this point, except to emphasize the importance of continuing to support our team and our coaches. Little Rock is an outstanding team and they're red hot. They will certainly be the best team to play in The High Country this season.
Coach Fox has to make a decision about his approach to this game--to go with his most experienced players; or to go with a complete youth movement. I look for him to be thinking ahead to next season when he puts a starting five on the floor.
No matter who he plays, they will be challenged early and often by a Little Rock team that does most things very, very well. Look for them to put on a clinic.
Oddly enough, despite their high profile and power rating, RealTime RPI.com has them as only six (6) point favorites tonight. Hope our guys actually do hang with this bunch for a full 40 minutes.

UA-LR has been playing really well as of late and has an outside shot for an at-large bid if they can take this / next couple couple games. So unfortunately I think we'll be getting a hyped team.
As you mention this game is more of an experience builder then anything, but we still have a slim shot at making the Sun Belt tournament if we win today, and beat Arkansas St.
In-fact if we'd beat either of the Georgia teams we'd have a half decent shot at making the conference tournament, since we would need to be Arkansas St either way which would give us the head-to-head victory.
Well hopefully we make a spirited effort regardless.

Apps and LR tied 30 apiece at the half. We actually lead by 7 at one point.

Spirited effort so far on D. Too bad we couldn't have held onto some of that lead heading into half but happy to be tied

Wow! I'm sure we all saw that coming, right?
Congrats to the team. Something to build on.

Ronshad is definitely gonna be the best player to ever play for us by a wide margin. Please, somehow find 4 more players to put around him for the next few years that aren't complete garbage.

That was a devastating loss for LR in their effort to secure an at large bid.

I notice you've said that a few times. Who would you say holds that distinction now?diehardapp18 wrote:Ronshad is definitely gonna be the best player to ever play for us by a wide margin. Please, somehow find 4 more players to put around him for the next few years that aren't complete garbage.

Yep. Probably ended any such hopes. They either cut down the nets in NOLA or have the gaudiest record in the NIT.hapapp wrote:That was a devastating loss for LR in their effort to secure an at large bid.

Texas State held on. We play Saturday, not knowing our fate, but needing a W. Then we scoreboard watch Texas State and South Alabama.

I'd say either Darryl Robinson or Tyson Patterson if we're only talking 4 year guys.EastHallApp wrote:I notice you've said that a few times. I have Furman grad neighbors who still talk about Spurlock to this very day.Rekdiver wrote:Spurlock was a beast!
