Are you talking about the guy that always says "oh my" and sounds like The Cowardly Lion from the Wizard of Oz? I believe his first name is Mike, not sure of his last. Personally he gets on my nerves. Now let's play "On Watauga" over and over about 15 times. "Your father's mustache" "Put em up, Put em up"

He seems to get more excited when the competition makes a big play than when Watauga does. In addition, sometimes he gets all excited and you think a big play has just happened then he'll say, "that's a one yard gain", LOL.

I just want to give it up to every Fall Sports Team from Watauga. I don't think I've seen such domination from them ever. I think they won every conference championship available. Volleyball was undefeated and made it to final 8 of playoffs. Tennis was undefeated in conference. Cross Country swept regionals and had individual honors with boys state winner. Soccer made it to final 8 in state and lost a close one to a great Concord team. Football has a great chance to go far.. Very impressive.

My senior year (73-74) we won the conference in: Football (Bi Conference Champs), Basketball, Wrestling (my sport, Association/Western North Carolina Champions - as far as you could go back in those days), and Baseball.

Go Watauga! Good win over Brown. In 73-74 I believe there were still two associations, the WNCHSAA and the state association ( I believe it was called). Who won the football title in '74. I believe it was Shelby or Salisbury, but maybe not. Those were my years.

Shelby was in WNCHSAA like Watauga so it wasn't them.Cro-Magnon App wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 6:33 pmGo Watauga! Good win over Brown. I think the merger was in 75 or 76. I don’t recall Watauga winning a conference basketball title , I suppose it could have happened , but I frankly don’t recall seeing them ever win a game.

Watauga won the conference in basketball in 73-74. I was in the Air Force from 74-78, thus I'm not sure what happened during those years.
