I'm not a huge Beach Boys fan but, God Only Knows is one of the great pop songs of all time IMO.

Saw the Beach Boys in Varsity Gym my sophomore year (1972-73). Their only NC appearance that year. One of my buddies drove up from State to attend.

Lennon and McCartney readily admit that they were inspired to create “Sgt. Peppers” after hearing “Pet Sounds”

If you have a chance, watch “The Wrecking Crew” documentary on Amazon. Great segment about Wilson and his songwriting and studio genius!

Sad day. Have seen them a number of time since the late 60s. Last was two years ago. Didn't go a week or so ago and really regret it.
