Re: World Cup
Head says France. Heart says Argentina.
I have a client who is Argentinian and lives in London who, on a whim, is en route to Qatar right now. I’m pulling for him a bit, I guess.

Re: World Cup
I think France might win it but I’ll pull for Argentina. Mbappe and Messi - going to be a good one.

Re: World Cup
That shot near the end by Messi was impressive even though goalie defended it. That opening was very small

Re: World Cup
Absolutely the best "football match" I have ever seen - After all of that in the championship game it should not go to shoot-out - they need to bring back the Golden Goal for the Final Game ---

Re: World Cup
If it weren’t for Lloris I’m not sure France would have made it past the quarterfinals. Mbappe scored a lot, but their defense was atrocious.
Glad for Messi to finally get his trophy.

Re: World Cup
Great final. Mbappe and Messi going at it was great for soccer. Now I'll return to barely paying attention to the sport for 4 years and giving my good friend a hard time over his love of premier league

Re: World Cup
Disagree. After the players giving it all physically for 120 mins, it would be sloppy, gross soccer. Penalties are not the coin flip they’re made out to be, it’s a fair way to decide a game that’s even after 2 hours.

Re: World Cup
Would you also want a football game decided by having a FG kick-off

Re: World Cup
No, but if it comes to it a college football game could be determined by a “PAT-off.” That’s the American football version of a mano y mano scoring attempt, which is what a PK shootout is in soccer. It’s better than a coin toss.

Re: World Cup
Admittedly not a soccer fan but that's probably a good way to end it if tied. I personally don't like the college football games that have multiple overtimes. Just end it. At least with soccer there is a chance for stops and misses on kicks. Many teams prove that they can play virtually forever without scoring a goal.
