If you will give it a try, you will learn that a small place in Welcome, NC is second to none for Lexington BBQ. Ricks Smoke House my fav and I live in Davidson County. His BBQ ribs and chicken are also the best by far in the area. I will concede that BBQ Center banana splits are is an absolute must do. Both as well as Lexington BBQ have curb service at this time. Give them some business.

Here are all my favorites I've tried:

In NC -- Cooks, Southmont (Lexington)
Near me in Richmond VA - Buzz & Neds
Boone area -- Woodlands (mostly nostalgia)
Large chain - Mission BBQ
Atmosphere -- Salt Lick, Driftwood TX
Overall (pork) -- Pappy's, St Louis MO
Overall (brisket) -- Hutchins, McKinney TX

Try Fishin’ Pig when you’re down toward Farmville. It’s pretty tasty.

Just looked up the Fishin Pig. I haven't heard of it before. It looks like the kind of place I where would very much like to eat. I'm over Farmville way from time to time and will have to give that place a try when this unpleasantness has passed.
