Question: It is my understanding that Richardson is the majority owner at I believe 48% of the team and that there are 12 other owners. Are all shares up for sale or just Richardson's?
My understanding is just his share. Some of those minority owners have deep pockets. (Levine, Harris, Bissell, etc). I think it could be possible for these guys to fill the void, if they want to. I don't see this happening.

I will say this. Anyone that is tweeting that they want in right now, including Diddy, Kaep, and Curry, have zero chance. Who ever buys is not chatting about it on social media right now. They are chatting about it with financial and legal minds. I hope it's Mark Cuban.

I'd love Dr. Jim Goodnight of SAS (worth $9.8 billion) to buy them. He was born in Salisbury, about 50 minutes from Charlotte...excellent businessman and is very big on helping the community.

I saw where Diddy and Curry were talking about buying the Panthers. His 1st order of business was to sign Kaep and make the halftime shows better. My guess is that first comment sealed his chances of ownership.

Re: Diddy. I don't want a guy who can't decide on what to call himself making decisions about an NFL franchise.

Or thinks we are the "North Carolina Panthers". Or that Kaep is a better QB than Cam. The guy eliminated himself from contention as soon as he opened his mouth.

I want in! I'm going to bring in Ryan Leaf as the new QB's coach!

The more I read about Diddy’s “interest” the more I think it’s just a publicity stunt. I heard earlier today the Panthers are worth $2BILLION...I think we can scratch Kap off the list.

2.3 billion according to Forbes, 48% of that is at stake. Forbes also estimates Diddy's net worth at 820 MM. Diddy could do it with the help of a few friends. This will never happen.

Can't wait for the game at Jerry Richardson Stadium next year. Speaking of, that can't be good for UNCC from a recruiting standpoint. Wonder if they are legally able to change the name.

Sure. Just return the 10 MM he donated for naming rights.

Holy crap, I didn't realize that fool had his name on their stadium.

And the field is named after Hugh McColl. They would not even have a football program if there weren't so many billionaires in Charlotte in need of tax credits. UNCC is a fabricated shell of a football program. Maybe they'll move Jerry's ridiculous statue from BofA to Richardson Stadium. Maybe Jerry can go hang out there and ask to shave Judy Rose's legs. So weird.

It would take a 10 HP zero turn lawn mower to shave Judy's legs.

Definitely a publicity stunt. Serious players don't start negotiations via twitter for starters, and a guy with his notoriety and rather extensive rap sheet would most likely not qualify to buy any professional sports team. The transaction is much, much more than money. He looks like a clown with this move.

I don't get Steph Curry's move either. He seems to be a solid, grounded guy but he is really young with no significant business experience and his primary focus has to be playing basketball at this point in his life. Doubt he has the liquidity and leverage to throw at this venture at this point in his life/career either.

Steph is young and rich, and simply loves the Panthers. His interest comes from being a fan first.

I think any and all options would be on the table for Jerry.

Wonder if there will be any protests to protect the history surrounding Jerry's statue when it comes down.
