What do recruits care about?

Unread post by APPdiesel » Tue May 08, 2018 4:59 pm

Fascinating article from PickSixPreviews.com. They interviewed 224 recruits and asked them their opinions of all P5 schools on key categories including stadium size, uniforms, coach's personality, etc to get an idea of what P5 schools' brands are connecting with recruits best.

Interesting but kinda not even surprising the top 65 doesn't contain a single G5 school.

Not that it matters, but the author does say he asked how Power 5 school brands ranked. I would love to see the list expanded to include all division 1 schools. I'd even be okay with a brand ranking for only G5 schools. My guess is, App's brand would be pretty high on that list.

Yeah, author only asked about P5 programs. Guarantee you a handful of G5 schools would rank higher than some P5s. BYU, Half of the AAC, a smattering of others from the MW, SB, MAC, and CUSA.

The aggregate score is what's ultimately important but they didn't really dive into which factors carry more weight.
