Ran across this item in twitter by mere chance. Consider the info and the source for whatever... It cites findings that go to some degree against the grain.

Reminds me of a story: One day, I took my grandmother to visit my great grandmother who had just turned 100. While we were visiting, my great grandmother turned to me and said, "Honey, would you go to the drug store for me and get my prescription refilled? It's my vitamins. I take a tablespoon in the morning and it peps me up. I take a tablespoon at bedtime and it helps me sleep". So, certainly, I took off for the local drug store and handed the bottle to the pharmacist whom I knew personally telling him the story. He grinned slightly and proceeded to gravity fill the bottle from some big container. He came back and said, "So this helps your grandmother feel better?" I said, "Yes" and he said "It ought to; it's about 60 proof". She likely never knew she was taking a couple of shots per day.
