#KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread
Woof, last night was embarrassing. How do you see the rest of the season playing out?
I have this weird feeling we rebound strong and win our next 4, putting the Panthers at 10-3 heading into the MNF matchup with the Saints. From there, I have no idea what happens. We could go 2-1, 1-2, or 0-3 in the home stretch. We really need the Saints to drop a game or two between now and then. If we're two games back heading into the final 3 games, it ain't happening...

We seem destined for a wild card berth, which isn't ideal for a team who struggles on the road this season.

Can't win on the road, except for the Philly anomaly. Probably go 4-3 in the remaining games, finish 10-6, lose first round of wildcard playoff.

Re: #KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread
Can't say I disagree here. I think the only shot we have left to save the season is to go 4-0 and catch the Saints as a 10-3 team. If we can get them in Charlotte outside on a cold night in December, they're probably beatable. If they have a two game lead heading into those final three games the forget it. We may win at home but we're not winning both. The loss to the Redskins is going to sting all seasonNattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Fri Nov 09, 2018 12:14 pmCan't win on the road, except for the Philly anomaly. Re: #KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread
Panthers needed to avoid the “bad” loss. While it wouldn’t have been horrible to lose last night losing in that fashion really exposed what I thought was a good defense. Gotta hope the Bengals can help us out Sunday. That former D Coordinator was not bad apparently

Re: #KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread
The Panthers looked old and slow last night. The Steeler D-line took our lunch money, went and got lunch then came back and ate it in front of our faces. I see the Panthers getting into the playoffs but no home game and an uphill battle. They were exposed in a bad way last night and it will be interesting to see how they respond. I have a feeling Drew Brees is going to do some damage in both games we have with the Saints late in the year. I'm thinking a 10-6 record will be about right.

Re: #KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread
Pittsburgh was already written down as a loss at beginning of year when I forecasted a 10-6 regular season. Being said, how they totally dismantled us physically on both sides of the ball did surprise me. Still have hopes we'll go 10-6 with schedule left, albeit better learn to win on the road. Prediction Panthers #5 nfc seed.

Re: #KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread
This team is not as good as many thought. Defense has been fairly weak all season but hasn't been a big deal because of a weak schedule. O line has been an issue for years and continues to be a weak now. I agree that this team makes the playoffs because they hardly play anyone but they likely back in losing 2 late season games against the Saints. I'd love to be wrong but that's how I see it. I thought we'd be lucky to be a .500 team this year but they are close to bettering my prediction already! ha!

Re: #KeepPounding Carolina Panthers Thread
Atlanta ran all over the defense, the redskins did too and had their way in the passing game. The Steelers did both offensively, and then assaulted Cam all night. It’s hard to believe a team that tied the season opener with the browns, and probablywould have lost had mayfield been starting at that point, utterly dismantled a team that has beaten the defending Super Bowl champs and the ravens who have the best defense in the league.
My question going forward is, was the Steelers defensive line that much better than we have faced all year, or have other teams just not applied as much pressure the Steelers? If not, I think that will be the gameplay for everyone going forward.

I hope this thread goes away soon. If you want to talk Panthers go to a Panthers message board. I know many will say don’t read it if you don’t like it and that’s fine but this is an App State forum. The Panthers somehow manage to win against mediocre teams and lose to good teams. GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!

Just because we are App fans means it’s wrong to have other sports interests now?appfanjj wrote: ↑Sat Nov 10, 2018 10:17 amI hope this thread goes away soon. We aren’t talking UNC football. Or basketball, or any other collegiate team/sport.
A professional football team that is local to most of us on the board, and less than 2 hours from App,in a general discussion folder. I am failing to see the issue here.

True. Panther fans have at it. Let’s get a win today in San Marcos. Looks like Troy may help us out.

Looking more and more likely that we’ll need to sweep the Saints to have any shot at winning the division. Not gonna happen. Hello #5 seed

Do we need to put you on suicide watch?
Getting beat by the browns... yikes.
At least the panthers got curb-stomped by a decent team

Suicide watch. Lol Been pulling for the Falcons since '66. I've seen much worse. Enjoying the race to the bottom with the Panthers.
