Grandfather,”PaPaw” , was a victim of chemical warfare while serving on some hellish , God forsaken French battlefield. His lungs were never the same but he returned home to live the American Dream. Many did not. I have not forgotten you. Duty. Honor. Country.

Many of us, especially of a certain age have lost love ones in wars - and before our time, just as with your "PaPaw" we have lost family members we never knew - I have a close relative buried in France from WWII that, I, of course, had never met - Just lost a very close cousin who bravely fought the demons of Vietnam (both visible and internal) for so many years -

I thanked my Dad today for his service.

I thank all the veterans on this board for your service, even though a simple thank you doesn't seem enough.

Any other attempts to co-opt this thread for political purposes is going to be met with a ban hammer.

You are welcome.

As I like to say, thank you for paying your taxes.

I didn’t think my post warranted a deletion, but don’t mind that it was considering its purpose was to suggest we do not talk about politics.

I have many family members and friends that are retired or active military, went out of My way to thank them today...... and will continue to at work tomorrow. These special people’s job is to ensure we continue to live free from tyranny. What an awesome purpose!
