US Soccer / World Cup 2022 Thread

Is the nightmare finally over? Probably not, but decent friendlies vs. England and Italy scheduled this week. Will be nice to finally see the young guns play together (Pulisic, McKennie, Adams, Weah, Sargent) and it comes vs. solid competition.

Also, looks like the ****show search for a manager will end. All signs point to Gregg Berhalter being named manager after these friendlies. Took long enough. It's not flashy, but I find it a solid hire if true. He's done more with less than any coach in the MLS year after year. I think that will translate well over to our player pool.

One last (sad) lol at the USSF for dragging this out for over a year now. Clowns

Well...that went about as expected. No coach, no vision, no plan, that's what you get.

yes, I'm going to talk to myself until someone else joins in :)

With the young talent we are getting let’s hope the new coach can develop them. We need to at least get back to being the power of CONCACAF

I think Gregg Berhalter is all but confirmed, there's rumors the contract has already been signed. I think they will announce him wednesday, the morning after the Italy friendly. They may even do it that night, tbh.

I certainly hope so. Not very hopeful for much to be seen in this match

Nothing was worse than buying flights and tickets prior to the qualifications were done. Sitting there watching US not make it is still such a bad dream. Was still a great trip..

Speaking of Russia? You booked flights before the Hex ended?

Good hire, terrible process. USSF is a disaster right now. News broke last night that US Soccer Foundation is suing USSF

Pulisic to Chelsea for 73,000,000.00

Amazing value for Dortmund, excellent exposure for US Soccer, great for Chelsea pushing their brand to the American market, horrible for any soccer fan that's not a Blue.

Hopefully for him he gets more time on the pitch than he did at BD. His flash has certainly left the pan.

Theres quite a few reasons he's lost playing time at BVB, imo. The first being Sancho is that good and has to be on the field. The second being it has come out that this transfer was agreed upon in early Fall near the start of the season, so it makes sense for BVB to go ahead and get others playing time ahead of CP, knowing he's out after this season.
