Yes on Linda Ronstadt - had a chance to see her around 1970, my cousin was a Duke student and she was on campus and he invited me over - I didn't go --- always wished I had!!! - she was a beauty.
My culturally deprived 19 year old cousin had never heard of Linda Ronstadt. I bought her a CD of Linda's Greatest Hits for Christmas.

Saw her at Carowinds, mid to late 70's. Music was good but she got really pissed and distracted by the train that ran by the pavilion. She would stop and curse every time it came by and they finally stopped the train until the show was over. By then though she had completely lost the audience. Many went in a fan and came out not so much.
Ronstadt was the featured "talent" for a Varsity Gym concert that included the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band during Rally Weekend in '70 or '71. The entire show was delayed for about 90 minutes. Her band and sound/lighting crew was present and ready, but she was mysteriously nowhere to be found. The SRO crowd got ugly and by the time she "sobered up" and made the scene, only 2,500-3,000 fans remained. She stomped around the stage cursing a blue streak, performed four or five sorry numbers and walked out. She's "been a nobody to me" from that day forward. The Dirt Band was on their game that night; otherwise, it would have been a complete bust. That was the beginning of the end for Rally Weekends at App. The reputation for good performers and good performances took a serious hit and that along with other "issues" resulted in Chancellor Herb Wey saying "No Mas" in '74 or '75. I'm a little fuzzy on those exact years, but if you were on campus in the early-to-mid 70s, you remember...

You're probably correct 66, the last band I saw at Varsity Gym was in 1973, The Doobie Brother. I don't remember if it was Rally Weekend or not, however, it was just after school ended. From 1974 (the year I graduated) on there was nothing.

Prince
And for me, it's not even close. He put on a hell of a show in Greensboro! Probably helps that we bought nose bleeds and got moved up to the front row upon arrival.
