Some of these people REALLY seem to be obsessed with phallic symbols. Anything longer than it is wide can be construed as phallic if you try hard enough. Welcome back to the Victorian era.

Regardless, HOA's are proof many people shouldn't run for real public office.

Most HOAs suck; they are governed by a bunch of nitwits. Or is it knit wits?

My HOA is A-OK. I can't have chickens or animal sacrifices outside, but I found a cool way to keep them inside while allowing them to travel like hamsters through a series of tubes. I think the main purpose of my HOA and the 11 homeowners paying into it is to have the roads paved/scraped/maintained. They (Maple Ridge) also mow around our ponds and common areas and suck up any leaves we blow out to the curb in November. Sometimes HOAs are OK. I can piss off my porches year-round without disturbing anyone thanks to some of the rules.
