It’s a rivalry and there is no love lost between bases. Don’t see how little digs and jokes like that are a big deal. People need to relax and not look for a reason to be offended all the time

Again - a little fact checking might help you ---
Beginning on May 10, 1933, Nazi-dominated student groups carried out public burnings of books they claimed were “un-German.” The book burnings took place in 34 university towns and cities. Works of prominent Jewish, liberal, and leftist writers ended up in the bonfires. The book burnings stood as a powerful symbol of Nazi intolerance and censorship.

Hope nobody threw their book on the fire only to remember they had a digital download.

Re: Book Burning at Stinks
You don’t have to go down to GSU to find folks who can’t accept the thoughts and ideas of others. You can find that behavior right at our dear old ASU. You can find it in our administration, and our faculty, and they are teaching it to the students. There are some things at ASU that are more like an indoctrination than an education. I for one have encouraged the leadership at ASU to focus more on diversity of thought amongst our students and faculty than diversity of race, gender and sexual orientation. On book burning, it’s not real high up on my list of things to do but I would consider it to be an act of free speech. And free speech is also something that is under attack on many college campuses. On the whole “white privilege” thing, it may to some extent exist, but it’s just something that’s being used to divide us. Looks like it worked at GSU.MrCraig wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 1:29 pmWe can argue the reality of white privilege all we want. The point I think that we should focus on here is the ignorance of a group of GaSo students. Higher education is supposed to be a place of learning, in which young adults are challenged both by rigorous courses and new ideas that compete with their preconceived notions. A Latina author came to the school and offered her opinion. Some students didn’t like her opinion, so they burned her book. Not only is this ignorant, but in the land of free speech, it’s un-American.
Aristotle said, “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” Sounds like there aren’t many educated minds in Statesboro.

Re: Book Burning at Stinks
The two are certainly correlated, data supports that, but is there a deeper reason/cause?
I’d rather be born into a family in which my mother and father are committed to each other and their family while setting children’s expectations.
There are many families of color I’d rather be born into then some white families.
The common success thread is deeper than sex or color, but that’s an easier card to play than address a tougher issue. I certainly don’t have the answer to solve a real and troubling problem.

And? And the post talked like only the GSU crowd called us goat humpers which is not true. We call them goat humpers. Easy point. The Rock wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 7:05 pmAnd....??NewApp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 7:01 pm

However I agree about the sensitivity thing.

Helluva lot more goats in South Georgia than in the northwestern tip of North Carolina. More opportunity.
