He was an original. Don’t think I’ve heard anybody play like him. Most drummers pretty much keep the beat, Pert was the star.

The best drummer that I ever saw play live and I saw some good ones Zac Starkey, Charlie Watts, Chris Slade, Alan White, but Neal Peart was absolutely amazing. People often overlook the fact that he was also a great writer, Rush's popularity skyrocketed when he joined and became their main lyricist.
