I really appreciate these guys for doing this. They could probably write a book about all the behind the scenes stories individually and collectively over the years.

David Jackson was the finest broadcaster in App State sports history. Not many would disagree. But sometimes I think folks overlook the outstanding work Adam Witten is doing. His calls on Demetrius Taylor’s strip-six and Nickolas Ross’s pick-six were amazingly perfect. We’re fortunate to have had two broadcasters back-to-back in the caliber of Jackson and Witten.

APPsolutely. I love Adam, Molly, and Simms and Pierre when he fills in. We continue to have a great broadcasting crew.

Can you give a time reference and Youtube link to the two games being talked about. I know I should just listen to them all but I don't have time right now and don't want to forget about this when I do have time.appstate77 wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 11:50 amTheir stories of Michigan and the JMU game held me spellbound.

The two most recent ones. Sat May 2 and Sat April 26. Both should be on YT under Saturday Evening Quarantine

Re: David Jackson saves humanity!
Listening to the ‘07 JMU radio call had me feeling all nostalgic. Being at the game you could just feel the title hopes slipping away on that final drive. The crowd was loud and rowdy when Banks recovered the fumble. I tried searching for the game to rewatch it with my son but was unable to find it.
Does anyone have a link to the game?

Re: David Jackson saves humanity!
I have it on DVD somewhere. I have been meaning to post on my Google Drive maybe I will just make a new Gmail account and load it up over the weekend. My dad and I missed that game due to wanted to save our money for the next games. I were driving around Lenoir near his house at the time, then was heading up the mountain for a Christmas tree. I remember the fumble happening right as we were at the DOT dump/collection area that was on US-321 near the top of the mountain just before Blowing Rock. We had to pull over and park there as I had to jump out of the car and run around for a few seconds like a madman. I had to do something as I was going to explode otherwise. I generally had to pay for my dad's ticket and my own and with younger kids in the house I had to be choosy on which games to attend. He passed away that next summer. I think that is the one game I regret not being at that I realistically could have been at given everything else in my life going on and finances. At the time I did not even have cable TV. I am not sure how I acquired a copy of the game. I don't remember now.
I got goosebumps just listening to that call earlier this morning. Both the Michigan game and this game have the same effect on me. As soon as I hear the radio call I am back there. My dad is alive and we are driving in the car up to Boone and both in a sorry mood given how the game had turned and in my view how meaningless the Michigan game would become if we lost in the playoffs...until the fumble. Then we were are happy as little kids in a candy store. Funny how our memory works.

I liked Charlie Harvell back in the day. Not saying he was better, just really good.

My pulse was racing as soon as Hart scores that TD. I know the outcome and still I am getting nervous.

I start my Monday mornings with SEQ episodes. I was in a meeting last Monday and forgot. Here is that installment. They talk about the Furman 2005 playoff game.

That last drive and FG is still amazing. I was holding my breath on the FG Julian made and the last one we blocked. Someday I fear Julian is not going to make the FG. Maybe we should stop with the rebroadcast while he is still making that kick to take the lead back.
