Any publicity is good I suppose. Interesting they pick that one out of all the old tracks around the country.

The intimidator vs the rainbow warrior. 1996 was the last nascar race there.

Was that just before Bruton bought it?

Bruton bought into North Wilkesboro (50%) in 95' and then Bob Bahre (Owner of New Hampshire at the time) bought the other 50% in early 96'. The final two races at NW were run under their control with everyone knowing what was happening. Bahre then shifted one date to New Hampshire and Smith used his date for Texas. It was maybe 11 or 12 years later when Bruton would buy out Bahre and take control of New Hampshire as well.

Maybe it’s mainly because of two months of no sports, but I’m realllllly looking forward to this race at 3 p.m. today.

Watched the Irace and was pretty fun. But just made me pine for North Wilkesboro. This didn’t help either. Good video though.
