Sparta earthquake
Our last daughter waiting a return to college felt the 5.1 earthquake this morning that was located near Sparta. It was enough to wake her up.
About 90 miles from our house.
Daughter at Meredith also felt it.

Re: Sparta earthquake
Rattled and shook the house east of Boone. Thought I was back in Cal for a second. Used to live in Sparta. There will be some damage there.

Centered to the north of Boone and W-S, the football gods expressed their anger over the cancellation of the App v Weak game.

Re: Sparta earthquake
We felt it in Tirzah, SC at 8:08 this morning. Shook the house for about 3 seconds or so but no damages or any other problems.
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

I was awake in bed with the wife. Per usual, no comments from her about rocking her world.

Re: Sparta earthquake
At first I thought it was the commit I was expecting to announce but it turned out to just be an earthquake.

Seeing pictures on Twitter from inside homes and Moose was right. It's a mess.

Re: Sparta earthquake
Heard a large boom sound (Fayetteville) around that time. Thought it was thunder or Bragg. Checked the weather and there was no issues. Was that the earthquake?

Re: Sparta earthquake
I don't know about a boom that far away but it would take about 1 min to travel that distance give or take a bit. If it was 8:10 or 8:11 or later I would suggest this was not earthquake related.

Felt it good in Boone. Thought the decks had fallen off the house.
