Today, December 7, is the anniversary of the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, (Honolulu) Hawaii, in 1941. It was about 8:00 on a Sunday morning.
Within 7 hours they had attacked US held Philippines, Guam, and Wake Island.

Re: Pearl Harbor Day Reminder
Dad was working one of his three jobs when he and a buddy were alerted to the radio broadcast. He said they looked at each other ,steeled themselves and nodded at one another. He came home in ‘46 with two Bronze Stars ,a Commendation from General Mac and scars , deep inside , that he hid up until the end. I miss him terribly.

Reminds me of 9-11, from Coast Guard Headquarters in DC we could see the smoke rising from The Pentagon. Just like your dad and his friend, we all were willing and ready!!Stonewall wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 10:06 amDad was working one of his three jobs when he and a buddy were alerted to the radio broadcast. He said they looked at each other ,steeled themselves and nodded at one another.
