As a few of you may know, I'm a (very) recreational cyclist. I enjoy getting outside on the open road and riding until my legs fall off, only to get up the next day and do it again. One of the challenges I have taken on as a cyclist is participating in the annual 24 Hours of Booty, a fundraiser that raises funds for cancer research through LiveStrong, the Levine Children's Hospital and the Sam Mills Keep Pounding Foundation. This event, which takes place in Charlotte each July, is transformational for many participants. It's not uncommon to see people break down on the side of the road, crying for loved ones who have lost their fight to cancer.
I, like many of you here, have been touched too many times by cancer. My childhood best friend passed away on Christmas Eve when I was in 4th grade. My grandmother died a year later, succumbing to breast cancer. My father is a survivor of prostate cancer. My aunt, of breast cancer. Too many of us battle this scourge every day, including several on this board. I'm asking today for your support as I ride. Any donation you make is tax deductible, and many corporations will match your donation. Below is a link to my personal donation page. Should you so desire, you can donate anonymously, so that only I, and the 24HOB organization can see your name.
Even if you should choose not to donate, or are unable to, please take time to help fight. Join the national bone marrow registration. Visit a cancer ward and comfort the families there. Read to children suffering from the effects of chemotherapy. Do something, anything, you can. It all makes a difference.
Finally, I'll sweeten the pot for a few posters. If JCline, Veg, and WVApp can, between the three of them, raise and donate $500, I'll quit posting on here for 365 days from the date of the donation that puts it over the top.

Thanks for your time and consideration, and keep pedaling, and keep fighting!
