Not really a discussion with this - just a plug for my cousin's place

Great BBQ joints across AmericaForbes

Oak, The New Fat Alley,
Telluride, Colo.

Easily the best ski town BBQ joint in the country, this used to be called Fat Alley Barbecue, but it lost its lease and in 2011 moved to the slopeside Camel's Garden Hotel. Despite the new and bigger location, it is still owned and run by the same transplanted Alabaman pitmaster, Robbie O'Dell, who makes some mean BBQ ribs. The perfect rib is tender but not mushy -- "fall off the bone” is an insult that gets points deducted in competition barbecue. These are just firm enough so that when you take a bite you take just a bite, precisely cooked and perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of blackened crispy crust, big, thick, meaty and juicy. In a unique display of artistry,

O'Dell cuts them apart and serves them stacked -- rarely do you see the words BBQ ribs and presentation together, but it works. The Southern-style bread pudding is over the moon, the best dessert you will ever find in a BBQ restaurant anywhere -- a true must.
