SportsIllustrated.com recently published a commentary on the impact of the National Letter of Intent on college athletics. I don't agree with the story thesis -- that high school athletes could magically change the system if they really wanted to -- but it's a good read for anyone who wants to better understand how this process works. And it also provides context to the situation we currently are faced with in men's basketball with regard to Devonte Graham.
