I saw that. That's the dumbest move they've ever made. Worse than anything. That's letting pro players play again. So jow you come out of high school and go G league and then after a couple years go to college at 21 and get NIL money and hope you get an nba shot at 23 or 24. Such a joke.
Take this same mentality with football. Let Canadian league players play college ball if they had eligibility left.
Letting minor league baseball players who went straight out of high school in college ball. Its going to happen now.

Good for Tom. He is 100% right. People aren’t being held accountable to the consequences of their decisions.

Yet another nail in the coffin.
I still believe before it’s all said and done, college athletes won’t even need to be students any longer.
Sad.

Exactly right. Too many cases where a player is not held accountable. Glad to see our football coach is holding people accountable though.

They could possibly get paid more in college than the G League. NBA is avoiding the inevitable lawsuit. Let's see how the NCAA handles having "professionals" in college. Oh, wait, never mind.......

If we are paying college players already then who cares if they come back? They are already professionals while in college... If they have eligibility then it just is what it is. Courts have shown they will side with the players so institutions have no power anymore.

This is true. People have to remember that the schools don't have to take them on the team though. The courts are just saying players can do these things. Schools can decline to offer a scholarship or NIL money and just not have them. I'm sure there are coaches who will not want to take them while some will. Does anyone think we will see a day when a long time NBA vet who left college early decides they want to go play college ball to prolong their career when they get cut? It would not shock me.

Is the reason the player is eligible because he never played in college before the G League?

You beat me to it...Lebron in an AppState jersey. We can charge him NIL money to name the building and get it up to his standards with all the bells and whistles.
